This place was pretty good. We went for a friend's birthday and she picked the place. We ordered "spicy" items from the menu. The waitress even commented that Ooo, we were going for the spicy! So we expected some fire when it came out. The food came remarkably fast, probably less than 10 minutes. They were in weird dishes, I thought they were kind of silly. Gordon Ramsey would have a field day with these things. But anyway, the food. It tasted really good but the spice was almost non-existant. I guess you need to tell them to really kick up the spice. They do have Sriracha on the table if you want to add it I guess but I didn't want to mess with the flavors of my food. I thought it was a Thai place but the menu said "asian fusion" or something. They have stuff like sesame chicken, pad thai and Vietnamese noodle bowls, so it isn't just a Thai place. It still tasted pretty good though.They just need to up the spice. They do have dessert, although we didn't get any (sadly-it looked really good). The beer seems to have gone up to a dollar instead of a quarter, too. It was decently priced. Three of us ate for under forty bucks.

I would give it zero stars if I could. My husband and I came to eat dinner one day in the first week of August. The place was very empty. Yet, we still had to wait for quite a while to be seated. We have had plenty of Thai food before, and we knew what we liked. But the menu in this restaurant was very limited. And after we sit down, it took the waitress 20 minutes to come over to our table to greet us. We finally placed our order of three dishes and an appetizer. The food came quickly. We had our first bite, and almost spit it out. The food was terrible. Tasted like cough syrup, and was extremely sweet. All three dishes and the appetizer tasted terrible. We asked the waiter for recommendation for something more authentic. The waiter said nothing in this restaurant was authentic. Every dishes in the menu were made for Americans. "They love the sweet stuff." Well, we did not know what to say. We simply paid for the entire bill, gave the food back to the kitchen, and left. Honestly, we can tolerate bad service if the food is good. But bad service + uneatable food? This place deserve zero stars.

Thai Basil is amazing. I had it for the first time in Denver and was so excited when they opened in the Springs. The springs rolls and Thai basil sauce are to die for. I highly recommend Thai Basil.

The Drunken Noodles with beef was good today.Sweet and spicy.Nice size portions. The appetizer of Crab Cheese Wontons came out fast.The small space can get loud at lunch.Parking could also be tricky at lunch in the busy shopping center.

The worst tasting thai food I've ever had. There were duck bones in the duck & mushroom dish, the coconut soup was tasteless, the shells weren't fully removed from the shrimp, the pad-se-ew was dry and bland. Just really really bad. They did deliver on time and the order was correct. That's about the positive thing I can say.

I ordered delivery through Grub Hub. I ordered the Satay beef and an order of Crab Cheese wontons. My first impression of the place is when my co-worker came to my office with my order and said "The delivery guy said to tell you he is charging extra", which really does NOT leave a good impression. I checked my accounts, and I did not appear to be charged more than what was agreed upon at checkout and had already paid for. The food was pretty good. I love the brown rice. it is cooked perfectly. I probably would have given more stars, however the delivery driver put a bit of a damper on things.

In what is already a stacked area of Northern Colorado Springs, Thai Basil is a great Asian option that's locally owned and operated. Star 1: How was the service and atmosphere? Excellent. Thai Basil is clearly family run, and the staff are extremely helpful and friendly. Additionally, service is quick and is complemented by a comfortable atmosphere. Star Granted. Star 2: How were the portions relative to the cost? $8.00 for a massive lunch portion of all this Sesame Chicken? Yes please: yelp.com/user_local_phot… Star Granted. Stars 3 and 4: How was the food? Sesame Chicken is pretty hard to screw up, but having said that, it's difficult to really nail. This was a great dish, but it wasn't the best I've ever had. The brown rice option should be noted though! Single Star Granted. Star 5: Would you eat here every day if you could? I'll be the first to admit that I'm addicted to Noodles & Company when it comes to essentially any craving, to include their asian dishes. However, the atmosphere that eixists at Thai Basil is enough to have me coming back daily. Star Granted.

Got delivery here through GrubHub. Took an hour to get there, even though they were only 1.5 miles away. Pad Thai was awful. No flavor except for sweet. The hot and sour soup was also very bland; it was decent once I added some ponzu sauce in. Cheap prices and large portions, but poor quality. Definitely wouldn't eat here again.

We had dinner on 5/17/2014. We had the Lemongrass Mussels for and appetizer and they were delicious. I had the Orange Beef and my husband had the Thai Basil Chicken. Both were delicious. They had the perfect amount of spice and flavor. Very generous portions, had a nice lunch the next day. The wait staff were amazing, everyone was checking to see if everything was ok. The wine selection was limited but we were told they are in the process of updating their wine list. I did have an enjoyable glass of wine with dinner though. Looking forward to the updated selection on our next visit.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE the Pineapple Chicken over Portabella Mushroom!!! I also love mixing the rice they give you with the sauce from the chicken!!! SUPER YUMMY!!! The Thai Tea is supper yummy too!!!

This place is very nice. It's within walking distance of work but I would gladly drive there. The food is reasonably priced and very tasty. I particularly love the hot and sour soup. The servers are always prompt and friendly and you don't have to go all that often to be remembered.

Very friendly staff, good prices, convenient location, large portions. So why the 3-star rating? I feel the food is hit or miss. Shouldn't a Thai place have good pad Thai? And what in the world is Tequila Lime Beef doing on a Thai menu? Seems like something On The Border would sell. I do have a couple of favorite things here however, and that's because they're consistently good. Those would be the: Thai Basil Chicken, and the Green Curry Chicken. When ordered to-go the Green Curry Chicken comes in what has to be a quart sized container. Definitely enough for two people or for tasty leftovers.

Relatively small restaurant. The food here is pretty good considering Colorado Springs is probably a food desert compared to San Francisco. I had the Panang Beef. I don't consider what they served me authentic Panang curry, but at least the beef was very tender, the curry was decent and the portion size is a good value. The best Orange Beef since Moonstar (Powers and P-Park location) closed year's ago. Pot Sticker is great and the Fried Noodles are really good also. Service is good and they have $1 beers for happy-hour, what more do you need...

This place has delicious food and huge serving. The pad-se-ew is very flavorful and to die for. Their hot and sour soup is spicy, not too over the top, the fried rice dishes are huge as well. Really, the food here is absolutely delicious, super flavorful, and the price tag is pretty reasonable.

Had the spring rolls. They were sub-par. Son had the crab and cream cheese won-tons. They were very good. We both shared the pad Thai and it was just ok. Waitress was awful. Food was decent and large portions. Maybe I have just been spoiled with having really good Thai food, but I don't think I would go back.

The Thai Basil dishes are excellent as are the soups. If you like noodles though, the Lo Mein is better than the Pad Thai. Other menu choices are hit or miss as is the service. Lunchtime is best in terms of service and value.

Definitely Americanized, but still good. I tried the Thai basil beef and, while I'd been expecting something closer to the pad kapow I've had at more authentic places, it was good in its own right. The orange chicken was even better. Cute decor, friendly staff, relaxed vibe.

Mediocre. Pad Thai is not spicy at all and is very sweet. I was disappointed to say the least. I didn't feel like they made it spicy at all, and I love heat. Meh, I'll never go back.

Having moved from the bay area in California with authentic ethic foods - this place is the equivelent of Taco Bell in Mexican food. Their prices are high and they food is far below quality. I've not been back and that was 3 years ago. Save your money and appetite and go to Bhan Thai on Academy Blvd. and Galley. It is the best Thai food in the Colorado Springs area.

This is probably the most authentic Thai that you can get in the Springs. It's a chain joint, but don't hold that against it. The vegetarian options are decent (Thai Eggplant ftw), and the edamade order is more than enough for 6 people to share. The staff is extremely friendly and make the best out of the somewhat cramped space. If you're looking to try something out of the norm (for you at least, Colorado Springs), order a Thai Iced Tea. It's made up of sweet, condensed milk and strong black tea for a mix that's truly delightful.

We showed up to Thai Basil at about 6pm on a Saturday night and were promptly seated. As noted in a previous review, domestic beers are now $1.00 and house wines are $2.00 during happy hour between 5pm and 9pm. The restaurant is crowded and a bit noisy - not the type of place for an intimate date. The menu is a fairly diverse, pan-Asian affair, with enough variety to satisfy most (though I was surprised at the relative dearth of noodle dishes). I ordered the green curry with chicken, and my partner-in-crime got the drunken noodles with chicken. The food was served within a few minutes, which was nice, since yelling over the murmur of the crowd for much longer would have given me a pretty good case of rock concert voice. In contrast with comments from a previous review, both of these dishes had plenty of fire; in fact, that's pretty much all they had going for them. The green curry was mediocre, tasting of coconut milk, heat, raw veg, and not much else. The noodles were overcooked into sort of a gummy mess that could have doubled for shoe rubber if you found yourself in a real bind. Total meal price for two was ~$20, without any alcohol. The portions are fairly large, too - perfect for the average Colorado Springs crowd. Personally, I'm not sure that I'll be back.

Ambiance: Very cramped, small eatery. Less than a dozen tables. Located in a strip mall. Service: Average, nothing special. Food does arrive timely. Food: I have been disappointed on three occasions now! This is a Colorado mini-chain, with each location varying in quality. This is the worst of the chain (the best one is in Denver on Broadway). The pad thai resembled more of a ramen-type soup. Way too much runny sauce in the bowl (really was like a soup). Lacked the various nuances of spices found at their other locations. Their curries also are unimaginative, and very much dumbed-down for an American palate. Also, all their entrees are way too sweet, need to be more savory. Overall, three strikes and you're out! No more chances for Thai Basil in Colorado Springs. Not a comfortable place to eat, with poor excuses for so-called Thai food. I'll take a pass going forward.

When my date and I walked in, it was a lot smaller than we expected it to be, but it wasn't busy so it wasn't a problem. We were greeted right away, with a friendly smile. The service was nice, but not quite the experience i was looking for. Our waitress didn't try to converse, just doing bare minimum. The food came out extremely fast! I ordered the Thai Eggplant, which was amazing! A little spice to it, but wasn't too much so I couldn't enjoy it. My date enjoyed his dish as well (don't remember what he ordered ) I thought it was a nice place but the only things the stood out, was the overhead music. Sounds like they were playing something from a local radio station.. not enjoyable at all. In addition to the poor choice in music, there was a TV going on in the back room, that was loud enough for us to hear. Other than that, I would recommend trying it out, it was interesting.

Thai Basil is an excellent choice for lunch. The portions are generous and the prices are very reasonable. I often order the Thai Basil Tofu. This dish has stir fried tofu, water chestnuts, bok choy, lots of basil and garlic in a rich sauce. I always order steamed rice instead of the usual fried rice to go with it. It is denoted as a spicy dish but they always default to medium unless you tell them your preference. My only complaint is that the sauce is too thick for my liking. If they tone down on the cornstarch or arrowroot it wouldn't be so coagulated, I usually take home the leftovers and need to add soy sauce or water when I reheat it. I would say this place is good for groups of 4 or less. I've come with a larger group and there is always someone left out at the end waiting a good 5 or 10 minutes after everyone else got their meal.

Stopped in for lunch... was seated immediately and noticed the tables are rather close to each other. Suddenly the two of us were meeting four others. Okay? The service was great and the food tremendous. A good place if your looking for a quick sit-down, serve, eat and go!

Nice comfortable atmosphere, open feel and clean. ordered the crunchy egg roll (about $4 - tasty, but kinda small portions) and the Pad Thai (about $8 - also tasty, but I found it to be a little bland. next time I will ask them to upgrade the spice, then I think it'll be *very* good.). I'm happy I gave this place a 1st try, and I'll be going back.

Cheers for another expansion from Denver. This is a small space, but nicely decorated and conveniently located near all the Chapel Hills shops. The food is good; I tried a variety of dishes but especially loved the gyoza appetizer. But here's the kicker. I was surprised to see that the beer I ordered was only listed as 25 cents on our bill. I thought surely they left off a '3' and a '.' (the menu list price) But no, in fact, that was the actual price. The people at the table next to me said that domestic bottles are on special for 25 cents from 5 to 10 PM, while imports are 50 cents. Did you hear me???? 25 cent beer??? Get it while it lasts, and make sure you order some dinner to go with it.

Fresh food, generous portions, friendly and attentive service -- and good prices! The food was fabulous. Several in our party are gluten intolerant which always makes eating out tricky. The waiter was familiar with gluten intolerance and identified all the items on the menu that were gluten-free and offered to change the recipe on one dish to exclude the gluten. Certain dishes he said couldn't be made gluten-free because the chef said they wouldn't taste good. We appreciated his candor and the chef's dedication to providing delicious food.

The GOOD, the BAD and the UGLY (really ugly) I've spent a few weekends in CO Springs and have come to realize that cheap/free beer and wine is not all that uncommon. Broadway Deli on Tejon (4 star review to come) has unlimited FREE beer with dinner between 5 and 10 every night - and for a deli the food is great. Thai Basil has 25/50 cent beer - eat in only (no acceptions). Although free/cheap beer is tempting.... Thai Basil is not worth the effort even for dirt cheap beer. Picked up a large take out order tonight for 5. The GOOD: service was quick - spent less than 10 minutes in the restaurant from placing the order to walking out the door. The BAD: the small portions were mediocre at best and the noodles were not close to warm (temp and spice levels) and not as good as Noodles and Company(!), there was no heat (spice level) in any of the food (noodles, beef, shrimp, rice) nor any offer to make the food spicy... The UGLY: the store management and customer service. I asked for a beer while waiting in a booth for the take out and the manager instructed the cashier to chrarge full price, huh?, I am sittting in a booth waiting for the 'Panda Express wannabies' to box up some to-go and they deny 1 'happy hour' priced beer - I was suprised they didn't offer something/anything (tea/water/beer) for frree while a customer waits for a large order, let alone insist on 'over charging' for a single drink. Yet, the manager insisted take out orders pay full price no acceptions regardless... no need for a power struggle here (...anger mgt paying off already ;-) perhaps I am not the right ethnicity/race for decent service at this establishment - no worries, look forward to finding better service/food elsewhere and there is always Noodles and Company :-(

Came by with a group of friends today. There were seven of us so it took about 10 - 15 min to seat, but that's okay. There were seven of us. When we got being seated the staff were real friendly and ready to serve. The menu offers a great variety choices, separating them by main ingredient like most Asian restaurants. I chose the Orange Beef and wasn't disappointed. It's not the most impressive oriental meal in town but it leaves you satisfied and tastes great. I'll definitely return here later on. Service, Food, Price and Setting. Four Stars Toss up between one and two dollar signs depending on what you order.

This is NOT the most authentic Thai food that you can get in Colorado Springs; believe me, being of Thai heritage, I do know. First of all, the restaurant is located in the strip mall area that contains Chipotle and The Egg and I, and is next to H&R Block. When I walked in, I was so confused because the decor was Chinese, not Thai. Uh oh. Our servers were not Thai, of that I am pretty certain, especially since my parents and grandparents, who are Thai, were there to confirm. Thai Basil does know how to market and describes their dishes to tempt the customer, but what you get is not what is written. Their Thai Iced Coffee is what I believe to be composed of the Thai Iced Coffee concentrate you buy in the Asian grocery with Half and Half on top. It tasted alright, but definitely not great. We ordered Chicken Satay and it was dismal tasting; the chicken was coated in this way too sweet sauce and the peanut sauce was runny with no spice or even peanut taste, if you can believe it. The cucumber salad/relish served with the Chicken Satay did not seem to contain any peppers and although it might have been soaked in vinegar, the sugar added to the salad eliminated any other flavor but sugar. Yuck. I ordered the Thai Eggplant as my lunch portion entree and it too, like the Chicken Satay and cucumber salad, was so sweet, I could barely eat it. I had to douse it with Sriracha Sauce in order to dumb down the sweetness, but it still tasted like I was eating just sugar. On the menu, Thai Basil claimed that the Thai Eggplant was a hot dish...maybe they meant the temperature; it could not have meant hot as in spicy because there were sparse amounts of pepper flakes. It was also supposed to have basil and mint. Well, I did see a partial piece of basil and did not find any mint. At least the egg roll served with the entree was not sickeningly sweet. My eldest daughter ordered the Drunken Noodles, which were supposed to be mild due to our request, but I did not see a single flake of pepper on it either; definitely did not like her dish. The Potstickers, ordered by my youngest daughter, seemed okay, but even those she did not really eat which is abnormal. Also ordered around the table were Thai Curry Lime Beef, Drunken Noodles -spicy, Pad Se Ew, Fish Filet in Black Been Sauce, and Hong Kong Noodles; all these dishes were so sweet and definitely did not taste as described. Also, the noodle dishes were served in a trough-like bowl which made everyone look like a farm animal when they had to eat directly out of the bowl. What am I saying? Well, if you want sweet Chinese American food, go ahead and try Thai Basil. On their website, they do advertise themselves as being Asian Fusion, but as far as that goes, this is the worst Asian Fusion food I have ever tasted. My husband is still laying down, an hour later, with a stomach ache and I feel pretty nasty as well. If you want Thai food, do not let the title of the restaurant fool you; go somewhere else like Thai Mint on Briargate Boulevard, not far from the Thai Basil location. Also, I found the servers to be okay but one did pratically throw our to go boxes at my grandfather. Nice. Another thing is the lack of beverage menu which leaves the customer guessing at what they have to drink and what the prices are. Oh, and almost all the plates they served us with, though probably originally nice, were chipped; pretty unappetizing.

Took my two daughters-in-law for lunch. I have to say, the Spicy Thai Ginger Shrimp would be worth the trip from St. Louis! A bit noisy, but wonderful and cheerful service and really fresh and well-prepared food. The Tom Gum soup was just right and the shrimp dish held plump and not overcooked shrimp with plenty for dinner tonight.

This is 1 of the top restaurants in the Springs! Great Location right off the freeway- I25. We go there or order once a week. If we could do more we would. I have never liked Thai food aunill I ate there.OMG SPICY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My 3 favorites is the Drunken noodles.They give you so much it takes 2 meals to eat it all! You always take home food from there... Green Curry Tofu is also 1 of our addictions and the appetite sampler.... YUM Panang is awesome, Peanut sauce is to die for, Green Curry is my favorite... Red Wine at 2.00 a glass on some special days and thats house wine...and its good. I love going there!!!!!!!!!!!!!l. Its so special with all their special dinner wear.... YOU wont leave hungry. They also have super FAST delivery!! Even in a snow storm! YOU can also tell them to make it more spicy and they will but be prepared for wowowowowo Great Place...

It's not as "Thai" as you might expect. The food was fine, price was great, service was fast and kind. Had the drunken noodles with sauteed tofa. It had the right amount of spice and flavor. Other dishes at the table were green curry (wonderful mix) and pad thai with chicken also tasty. The accoustics are weird as there is always a buzz from the conversations. Not great overall, but the food was fresh and tasty. I will probably go back again

I became a fan of Thai Basil years ago when I lived up in Denver. I can count on always being served fresh food, which includes the chicken. One of my faves is the Royal Chicken. Their coconut soup is also very tasty. Recently have not been thrilled with the crab wontons which used to be very good. Tried the mussels the other day which were fairly good considering we're landlocked. Curries tend to be very spicy which is how they are supposed to be,but if you don't like heat I'd order something else or ask to see if they coil do mild. Service can be hit or miss at times, but they are always friendly.

Food: I have been disappointed on three occasions now! This is a Colorado mini-chain, with each location varying in quality. This is the worst of the chain (the best one is in Denver on Broadway). The pad thai resembled more of a ramen-type soup. Way too much runny sauce in the bowl (really was like a soup). Lacked the various nuances of spices found at their other locations. Their curries also are unimaginative, and very much dumbed-down for an American palate. Also, all their entrees are way too sweet, need to be more savory. Overall, three strikes and you're out! No more chances for Thai Basil in Colorado Springs. Not a comfortable place to eat, with poor excuses for so-called Thai food. I'll take a pass going forward.

When my date and I walked in, it was a lot smaller than we expected it to be, but it wasn't busy so it wasn't a problem. We were greeted right away, with a friendly smile. The service was nice, but not quite the experience i was looking for. Our waitress didn't try to converse, just doing bare minimum. The food came out extremely fast! I ordered the Thai Eggplant, which was amazing! A little spice to it, but wasn't too much so I couldn't enjoy it. My date enjoyed his dish as well (don't remember what he ordered ) I thought it was a nice place but the only things the stood out, was the overhead music. Sounds like they were playing something from a local radio station.. not enjoyable at all. In addition to the poor choice in music, there was a TV going on in the back room, that was loud enough for us to hear. Other than that, I would recommend trying it out, it was interesting.

Lucky I found this one, easy on/off I-25. The happy hour is $1.50 beer when you order an entree. I believe the hours on happy hour is 4-7, not 100%. It not just cheap beer either, I had Tsingtao and noticed Guinness also. The entree I ordered was the drunken noodles with tofu. It was very flavorful and a huge portion that I barely finished. I'm looking forward to the next meal here. The young lady that looked after me did so without being bothersome. Excellent.

My favorite thai food restaurant in Colorado ! The soft shell crab dish , 1of2 -with the " spicy " name - ("One Nite In Bangkok" ) has a Karree Curry for dipping. Unique flavor , unique texture I also love duck curry. You seldom see this option . Panang curry with choice of meat or tofu,is not as "rare",but is a great choice . Maybe substitute bell peppers normally in Panang for carrots or broccoli instead. Green papaya salad is a classic treat from Thai basil. Sticky rice , not the sweet kind , adds a great chewy texture to your entree . We always get coconut soup and add a little sticky rice and spicy fish sauce . So savory ! They only charge $1.50 for up to 3 beers per person with the purchase of an entree . Coconut ice cream cools the burn !

Meh. Our waitress was the highlight of the visit. She was very sweet. I got the panang curry which is my favorite food & I sent it back because it was runny and bland. My daughter got the chicken lo mein which was acceptable. I traded my panang for a curry duck which I also didn't eat. It was too sweet, too mushy and lacked in a big way in the savory flavor that is si important in a Thai curry. I've never sent back a curry anywhere before, so that was am experience. Oh well. Better luck next time, I suppose, but I most likely won't come here again.

We order delivery from Thai Basil every few weeks. I found them via GrubHub and love that they deliver for free for a minimum order of $10. Given that we have virtually no delivery of any sort in Rockrimmon, I love to have this choice. They are not the best Thai for sure, but it's hard to beat delivery vs. NO DELIVERY. ^__^ My go-to are Panang Curry, Vietnamese spring rolls and chicken lemongrass soup. I have tried several other menu options and I was not too impressed. So I have since stuck with these choices. My husband has chosen many dishes so far and is not impressed at all. He finds that all dishes tastes sweet. He did like the mussels appetizer though and always orders fried dumplings too. So that's it. It would be a meh if there were more choices for delivery in our area, but there are none, so it gets bumped up to A-OK ;-)

Been eating here for about 5 years now, haven't had an issue yet! Best Pad Thai in town (in my opinion). It's more on the sweet side, not much spice but lots of chicken and shrimp and flavor!! I always have terrific service here, no matter if it's dine-in or take-out. And their happy hour drink prices are great. Bottom line: if you haven't been here and you want to try a Thai place... I highly reccomend this spot!

I had the panaang curry, which was delicious! I think the lady who waited on us was the owner, and she was friendly, and joking around with us. I told her I wanted the fried rice, and she told me I didn't, lol, that I needed steamed rice to soak up the curry, she was right :) The wait staff is friendly, the decor is pleasant, the food was served very quickly, and very reasonably priced. The food at Thai Basil is usually exceptional in Denver and Park Meadows. Unfortunately, the food here was just awful. My daughter had bugs in her food. The sesame chicken had old pieces of chicken that made it very crunchy and hard as wood to eat. The vegetables were soggy and gross. The service is terrible and inattentive. TIP: AVOID THIS PARTICULAR RESTAURANT LIKE THE PLAGUE. IT IS AWEFUL!!!

Visually, you'll find the overall restaurant pleasing with a little Thai-modern sense. My appetizer -Thai Spring Roll in rice paper (the usual order) didn't really owe me. Not saying it was bad, however the portion to flavor ratio, coupled with the "pre made, cold and just outta the refrigerator," fell a little shy when compared to a majority of the ones I've tried elsewhere. As for the main entree...I ordered the Chicken Eggplant. I will say it was very good...a perfect balance of chicken, eggplant and sauce, all prepared great. It's rare you that you don't come to find your meal swimming in sauce -and this delivered for sure. Portion wise...you get your money's worth! Okay....so, my peeve with the place was they don't offer the little spice tray (the one with the chili sauce.) This has to be the first Thai restaurant I've seen this at....maybe it's me being judgmental, but it's Thai and should be a standard at every table -kiddos like salsa to a Mexican joint. All that said, it's worth it and you'll be happy you did. Forgot to mention...the service was great too! Fast always checking up and never once violated the glass of water half empty rule!

Second try. Still not too impressed, but it's not horrible and it's a bargain. We had Sesame Tofu that was supposed to be crispy fried and it was really mushy. Also it was way more sweet than spicy. The Curry Chicken with Peanut Sauce was bland and not as red as I had hoped. Maybe you have to tell them to spice it up? Both dishes were identified as spicy on the menu, but were quite dull. The Thai soup was really good as was the coconut chicken soup. And really, a beer for $1.50? You can't beat that with a stick!

I generally like the Thai Basil restaurants I've been to in the Denver area. However, this one in Colorado Springs was a disappointment. The food was OK, but the waitress was inattentive and unfriendly. I heard her ask people at other tables if they wanted more water. She never asked me, although my glass was empty after a while. Nor did she ever ask me if everything was OK. She gave me the check without saying a word. Needless to say, I didn't give a big tip, just 10% of the pre-tax amount (and actually I regret giving even that much). Go to Thai Basil - just not this one!

I ordered delivery through Grub Hub. I ordered the Satay beef and an order of Crab Cheese wontons. My first impression of the place is when my co-worker came to my office with my order and said "The delivery guy said to tell you he is charging extra", which really does NOT leave a good impression. I checked my accounts, and I did not appear to be charged more than what was agreed upon at checkout and had already paid for. The food was pretty good. I love the brown rice. it is cooked perfectly. I probably would have given more stars, however the delivery driver put a bit of a damper on things.

I'll be the first to admit that I'm addicted to Noodles & Company when it comes to essentially any craving, to include their asian dishes. Got delivery here through GrubHub. Took an hour to get there, even though they were only 1.5 miles away. Pad Thai was awful. No flavor except for sweet. The hot and sour soup was also very bland; it was decent once I added some ponzu sauce in. Cheap prices and large portions, but poor quality. Definitely wouldn't eat here again.

We had dinner on 5/17/2014. We had the Lemongrass Mussels for and appetizer and they were delicious. I had the Orange Beef and my husband had the Thai Basil Chicken. Both were delicious. They had the perfect amount of spice and flavor. Very generous portions, had a nice lunch the next day. The wait staff were amazing, everyone was checking to see if everything was ok. The wine selection was limited but we were told they are in the process of updating their wine list. I did have an enjoyable glass of wine with dinner though. Looking forward to the updated selection on our next visit.

This place is very nice. It's within walking distance of work but I would gladly drive there. The food is reasonably priced and very tasty. I particularly love the hot and sour soup. The servers are always prompt and friendly and you don't have to go all that often to be remembered.

Very friendly staff, good prices, convenient location, large portions. So why the 3-star rating? I feel the food is hit or miss. Shouldn't a Thai place have good pad Thai? And what in the world is Tequila Lime Beef doing on a Thai menu? Seems like something On The Border would sell. I do have a couple of favorite things here however, and that's because they're consistently good. Those would be the: Thai Basil Chicken, and the Green Curry Chicken. When ordered to-go the Green Curry Chicken comes in what has to be a quart sized container. Definitely enough for two people or for tasty leftovers.

This is probably the most authentic Thai that you can get in the Springs. It's a chain joint, but don't hold that against it. The vegetarian options are decent (Thai Eggplant ftw), and the edamade order is more than enough for 6 people to share. The staff is extremely friendly and make the best out of the somewhat cramped space. If you're looking to try something out of the norm (for you at least, Colorado Springs), order a Thai Iced Tea. It's made up of sweet, condensed milk and strong black tea for a mix that's truly delightful.

Thai Basil is an excellent choice for lunch. The portions are generous and the prices are very reasonable. I often order the Thai Basil Tofu. This dish has stir fried tofu, water chestnuts, bok choy, lots of basil and garlic in a rich sauce. I always order steamed rice instead of the usual fried rice to go with it. It is denoted as a spicy dish but they always default to medium unless you tell them your preference. My only complaint is that the sauce is too thick for my liking. If they tone down on the cornstarch or arrowroot it wouldn't be so coagulated, I usually take home the leftovers and need to add soy sauce or water when I reheat it. I would say this place is good for groups of 4 or less. I've come with a larger group and there is always someone left out at the end waiting a good 5 or 10 minutes after everyone else got their meal.

Cheers for another expansion from Denver. This is a small space, but nicely decorated and conveniently located near all the Chapel Hills shops. The food is good; I tried a variety of dishes but especially loved the gyoza appetizer. But here's the kicker. I was surprised to see that the beer I ordered was only listed as 25 cents on our bill. I thought surely they left off a '3' and a '.' (the menu list price) But no, in fact, that was the actual price. The people at the table next to me said that domestic bottles are on special for 25 cents from 5 to 10 PM, while imports are 50 cents. Did you hear me???? 25 cent beer??? Get it while it lasts, and make sure you order some dinner to go with it.

Fresh food, generous portions, friendly and attentive service -- and good prices! The food was fabulous. Several in our party are gluten intolerant which always makes eating out tricky. The waiter was familiar with gluten intolerance and identified all the items on the menu that were gluten-free and offered to change the recipe on one dish to exclude the gluten. Certain dishes he said couldn't be made gluten-free because the chef said they wouldn't taste good. We appreciated his candor and the chef's dedication to providing delicious food.

The GOOD, the BAD and the UGLY (really ugly) I've spent a few weekends in CO Springs and have come to realize that cheap/free beer and wine is not all that uncommon. Broadway Deli on Tejon (4 star review to come) has unlimited FREE beer with dinner between 5 and 10 every night - and for a deli the food is great. Thai Basil has 25/50 cent beer - eat in only (no acceptions). Although free/cheap beer is tempting.... Thai Basil is not worth the effort even for dirt cheap beer. Picked up a large take out order tonight for 5. The GOOD: service was quick - spent less than 10 minutes in the restaurant from placing the order to walking out the door. The BAD: the small portions were mediocre at best and the noodles were not close to warm (temp and spice levels) and not as good as Noodles and Company(!), there was no heat (spice level) in any of the food (noodles, beef, shrimp, rice) nor any offer to make the food spicy... The UGLY: the store management and customer service. I asked for a beer while waiting in a booth for the take out and the manager instructed the cashier to chrarge full price, huh?, I am sittting in a booth waiting for the 'Panda Express wannabies' to box up some to-go and they deny 1 'happy hour' priced beer - I was suprised they didn't offer something/anything (tea/water/beer) for frree while a customer waits for a large order, let alone insist on 'over charging' for a single drink. Yet, the manager insisted take out orders pay full price no acceptions regardless... no need for a power struggle here (...anger mgt paying off already ;-) perhaps I am not the right ethnicity/race for decent service at this establishment - no worries, look forward to finding better service/food elsewhere and there is always Noodles and Company :-(

Came by with a group of friends today. There were seven of us so it took about 10 - 15 min to seat, but that's okay. There were seven of us. When we got being seated the staff were real friendly and ready to serve. The menu offers a great variety choices, separating them by main ingredient like most Asian restaurants. I chose the Orange Beef and wasn't disappointed. It's not the most impressive oriental meal in town but it leaves you satisfied and tastes great. I'll definitely return here later on. Service, Food, Price and Setting. Four Stars Toss up between one and two dollar signs depending on what you order.

This is NOT the most authentic Thai food that you can get in Colorado Springs; believe me, being of Thai heritage, I do know. First of all, the restaurant is located in the strip mall area that contains Chipotle and The Egg and I, and is next to H&R Block. When I walked in, I was so confused because the decor was Chinese, not Thai. Uh oh. Our servers were not Thai, of that I am pretty certain, especially since my parents and grandparents, who are Thai, were there to confirm. Thai Basil does know how to market and describes their dishes to tempt the customer, but what you get is not what is written. Their Thai Iced Coffee is what I believe to be composed of the Thai Iced Coffee concentrate you buy in the Asian grocery with Half and Half on top. It tasted alright, but definitely not great. We ordered Chicken Satay and it was dismal tasting; the chicken was coated in this way too sweet sauce and the peanut sauce was runny with no spice or even peanut taste, if you can believe it. The cucumber salad/relish served with the Chicken Satay did not seem to contain any peppers and although it might have been soaked in vinegar, the sugar added to the salad eliminated any other flavor but sugar. Yuck. I ordered the Thai Eggplant as my lunch portion entree and it too, like the Chicken Satay and cucumber salad, was so sweet, I could barely eat it. I had to douse it with Sriracha Sauce in order to dumb down the sweetness, but it still tasted like I was eating just sugar. On the menu, Thai Basil claimed that the Thai Eggplant was a hot dish...maybe they meant the temperature; it could not have meant hot as in spicy because there were sparse amounts of pepper flakes. It was also supposed to have basil and mint. Well, I did see a partial piece of basil and did not find any mint. At least the egg roll served with the entree was not sickeningly sweet. My eldest daughter ordered the Drunken Noodles, which were supposed to be mild due to our request, but I did not see a single flake of pepper on it either; definitely did not like her dish. The Potstickers, ordered by my youngest daughter, seemed okay, but even those she did not really eat which is abnormal. Also ordered around the table were Thai Curry Lime Beef, Drunken Noodles -spicy, Pad Se Ew, Fish Filet in Black Been Sauce, and Hong Kong Noodles; all these dishes were so sweet and definitely did not taste as described. Also, the noodle dishes were served in a trough-like bowl which made everyone look like a farm animal when they had to eat directly out of the bowl. What am I saying? Well, if you want sweet Chinese American food, go ahead and try Thai Basil. On their website, they do advertise themselves as being Asian Fusion, but as far as that goes, this is the worst Asian Fusion food I have ever tasted. My husband is still laying down, an hour later, with a stomach ache and I feel pretty nasty as well. If you want Thai food, do not let the title of the restaurant fool you; go somewhere else like Thai Mint on Briargate Boulevard, not far from the Thai Basil location. Also, I found the servers to be okay but one did pratically throw our to go boxes at my grandfather. Nice. Another thing is the lack of beverage menu which leaves the customer guessing at what they have to drink and what the prices are. Oh, and almost all the plates they served us with, though probably originally nice, were chipped; pretty unappetizing.

Took my two daughters-in-law for lunch. I have to say, the Spicy Thai Ginger Shrimp would be worth the trip from St. Louis! A bit noisy, but wonderful and cheerful service and really fresh and well-prepared food. The Tom Gum soup was just right and the shrimp dish held plump and not overcooked shrimp with plenty for dinner tonight.

It's not as "Thai" as you might expect. The food was fine, price was great, service was fast and kind. Had the drunken noodles with sauteed tofa. It had the right amount of spice and flavor. I became a fan of Thai Basil years ago when I lived up in Denver. I can count on always being served fresh food, which includes the chicken. One of my faves is the Royal Chicken. Their coconut soup is also very tasty. Recently have not been thrilled with the crab wontons which used to be very good. Tried the mussels the other day which were fairly good considering we're landlocked. Curries tend to be very spicy which is how they are supposed to be,but if you don't like heat I'd order something else or ask to see if they coil do mild. Service can be hit or miss at times, but they are always friendly.

This place was pretty good. We went for a friend's birthday and she picked the place. We ordered "spicy" items from the menu. The waitress even commented that Ooo, we were going for the spicy! So we expected some fire when it came out. The food came remarkably fast, probably less than 10 minutes. They were in weird dishes, I thought they were kind of silly. Gordon Ramsey would have a field day with these things. But anyway, the food. It tasted really good but the spice was almost non-existant. I guess you need to tell them to really kick up the spice. They do have Sriracha on the table if you want to add it I guess but I didn't want to mess with the flavors of my food. I thought it was a Thai place but the menu said "asian fusion" or something. They have stuff like sesame chicken, pad thai and Vietnamese noodle bowls, so it isn't just a Thai place. It still tasted pretty good though.They just need to up the spice. They do have dessert, although we didn't get any (sadly-it looked really good). The beer seems to have gone up to a dollar instead of a quarter, too. It was decently priced. Three of us ate for under forty bucks.

I would give it zero stars if I could. My husband and I came to eat dinner one day in the first week of August. The place was very empty. Yet, we still had to wait for quite a while to be seated. We have had plenty of Thai food before, and we knew what we liked. But the menu in this restaurant was very limited. And after we sit down, it took the waitress 20 minutes to come over to our table to greet us. We finally placed our order of three dishes and an appetizer. The food came quickly. We had our first bite, and almost spit it out. The food was terrible. Tasted like cough syrup, and was extremely sweet. All three dishes and the appetizer tasted terrible. We asked the waiter for recommendation for something more authentic. The waiter said nothing in this restaurant was authentic. Every dishes in the menu were made for Americans. "They love the sweet stuff." Well, we did not know what to say. We simply paid for the entire bill, gave the food back to the kitchen, and left. Honestly, we can tolerate bad service if the food is good. But bad service + uneatable food? This place deserve zero stars.

Lucky I found this one, easy on/off I-25. The happy hour is $1.50 beer when you order an entree. I believe the hours on happy hour is 4-7, not 100%. It not just cheap beer either, I had Tsingtao and noticed Guinness also. The entree I ordered was the drunken noodles with tofu. It was very flavorful and a huge portion that I barely finished. I'm looking forward to the next meal here. The young lady that looked after me did so without being bothersome. Excellent.

My favorite thai food restaurant in Colorado ! The soft shell crab dish , 1of2 -with the " spicy " name - ("One Nite In Bangkok" ) has a Karree Curry for dipping. Unique flavor , unique texture I also love duck curry. You seldom see this option . Panang curry with choice of meat or tofu,is not as "rare",but is a great choice . Maybe substitute bell peppers normally in Panang for carrots or broccoli instead. Green papaya salad is a classic treat from Thai basil. Sticky rice , not the sweet kind , adds a great chewy texture to your entree . We always get coconut soup and add a little sticky rice and spicy fish sauce . So savory ! They only charge $1.50 for up to 3 beers per person with the purchase of an entree . Coconut ice cream cools the burn !

My daughter got the chicken lo mein which was acceptable. I traded my panang for a curry duck which I also didn't eat. It was too sweet, too mushy and lacked in a big way in the savory flavor that is si important in a Thai curry. I've never sent back a curry anywhere before, so that was am experience. Oh well. Better luck next time, I suppose, but I most likely won't come here again.

I hate leaving bad reviews bur the restaurant is called Thai Basil. Menu is more of Chinese /Vietnamese /Thai. I had the Tom Yum soup and Pad Thai. Soup had way too much onions and Pad thai was in a sweet ketchup sauce. Not just that, service is slow. Sorry little restaurant but call yourself fusion cuisine or stick to 1.

Given that we have virtually no delivery of any sort in Rockrimmon, I love to have this choice. They are not the best Thai for sure, but it's hard to beat delivery vs. NO DELIVERY. ^__^ My go-to are Panang Curry, Vietnamese spring rolls and chicken lemongrass soup. I have tried several other menu options and I was not too impressed. So I have since stuck with these choices. My husband has chosen many dishes so far and is not impressed at all. He finds that all dishes tastes sweet. He did like the mussels appetizer though and always orders fried dumplings too. So that's it. It would be a meh if there were more choices for delivery in our area, but there are none, so it gets bumped up to A-OK ;-)

Been eating here for about 5 years now, haven't had an issue yet! Best Pad Thai in town (in my opinion). It's more on the sweet side, not much spice but lots of chicken and shrimp and flavor!! I always have terrific service here, no matter if it's dine-in or take-out. And their happy hour drink prices are great. Bottom line: if you haven't been here and you want to try a Thai place... I highly reccomend this spot!

I had the panaang curry, which was delicious! I think the lady who waited on us was the owner, and she was friendly, and joking around with us. The food at Thai Basil is usually exceptional in Denver and Park Meadows. Unfortunately, the food here was just awful. My daughter had bugs in her food. The sesame chicken had old pieces of chicken that made it very crunchy and hard as wood to eat. The vegetables were soggy and gross. The service is terrible and inattentive. Visually, you'll find the overall restaurant pleasing with a little Thai-modern sense. My appetizer -Thai Spring Roll in rice paper (the usual order) didn't really owe me. Not saying it was bad, however the portion to flavor ratio, coupled with the "pre made, cold and just outta the refrigerator," fell a little shy when compared to a majority of the ones I've tried elsewhere. As for the main entree...I ordered the Chicken Eggplant. I will say it was very good...a perfect balance of chicken, eggplant and sauce, all prepared great. It's rare you that you don't come to find your meal swimming in sauce -and this delivered for sure. Portion wise...you get your money's worth! Okay....so, my peeve with the place was they don't offer the little spice tray (the one with the chili sauce.) This has to be the first Thai restaurant I've seen this at....maybe it's me being judgmental, but it's Thai and should be a standard at every table -kiddos like salsa to a Mexican joint. All that said, it's worth it and you'll be happy you did. Forgot to mention...the service was great too! Fast always checking up and never once violated the glass of water half empty rule!

Second try. Still not too impressed, but it's not horrible and it's a bargain. We had Sesame Tofu that was supposed to be crispy fried and it was really mushy. Also it was way more sweet than spicy. The Curry Chicken with Peanut Sauce was bland and not as red as I had hoped. Maybe you have to tell them to spice it up? Both dishes were identified as spicy on the menu, but were quite dull. The Thai soup was really good as was the coconut chicken soup. And really, a beer for $1.50? You can't beat that with a stick!

I generally like the Thai Basil restaurants I've been to in the Denver area. However, this one in Colorado Springs was a disappointment. The food was OK, but the waitress was inattentive and unfriendly. I heard her ask people at other tables if they wanted more water. She never asked me, although my glass was empty after a while. Nor did she ever ask me if everything was OK. She gave me the check without saying a word. Needless to say, I didn't give a big tip, just 10% of the pre-tax amount (and actually I regret giving even that much). Go to Thai Basil - just not this one!

This is 1 of the top restaurants in the Springs! Great Location right off the freeway- I25. We go there or order once a week. If we could do more we would. In what is already a stacked area of Northern Colorado Springs, Thai Basil is a great Asian option that's locally owned and operated. Star 1: How was the service and atmosphere? Excellent. Thai Basil is clearly family run, and the staff are extremely helpful and friendly. Additionally, service is quick and is complemented by a comfortable atmosphere. Star Granted. Star 2: How were the portions relative to the cost? $8.00 for a massive lunch portion of all this Sesame Chicken? Yes please: yelp.com/user_local_phot… Star Granted. Stars 3 and 4: How was the food? Sesame Chicken is pretty hard to screw up, but having said that, it's difficult to really nail. This was a great dish, but it wasn't the best I've ever had. The brown rice option should be noted though! Single Star Granted. Star 5: Would you eat here every day if you could? I'll be the first to admit that I'm addicted to Noodles & Company when it comes to essentially any craving, to include their asian dishes. However, the atmosphere that eixists at Thai Basil is enough to have me coming back daily. Star Granted.

Got delivery here through GrubHub. Took an hour to get there, even though they were only 1.5 miles away. Pad Thai was awful. No flavor except for sweet. The hot and sour soup was also very bland; it was decent once I added some ponzu sauce in. Cheap prices and large portions, but poor quality. Definitely wouldn't eat here again.

We had dinner on 5/17/2014. We had the Lemongrass Mussels for and appetizer and they were delicious. I had the Orange Beef and my husband had the Thai Basil Chicken. Both were delicious. They had the perfect amount of spice and flavor. Very generous portions, had a nice lunch the next day. The wait staff were amazing, everyone was checking to see if everything was ok. The wine selection was limited but we were told they are in the process of updating their wine list. I did have an enjoyable glass of wine with dinner though. Looking forward to the updated selection on our next visit.

Very friendly staff, good prices, convenient location, large portions. So why the 3-star rating? I feel the food is hit or miss. Shouldn't a Thai place have good pad Thai? And what in the world is Tequila Lime Beef doing on a Thai menu? Seems like something On The Border would sell. I do have a couple of favorite things here however, and that's because they're consistently good. Those would be the: Thai Basil Chicken, and the Green Curry Chicken. When ordered to-go the Green Curry Chicken comes in what has to be a quart sized container. Definitely enough for two people or for tasty leftovers.

We showed up to Thai Basil at about 6pm on a Saturday night and were promptly seated. As noted in a previous review, domestic beers are now $1.00 and house wines are $2.00 during happy hour between 5pm and 9pm. The restaurant is crowded and a bit noisy - not the type of place for an intimate date. The menu is a fairly diverse, pan-Asian affair, with enough variety to satisfy most (though I was surprised at the relative dearth of noodle dishes). I ordered the green curry with chicken, and my partner-in-crime got the drunken noodles with chicken. The food was served within a few minutes, which was nice, since yelling over the murmur of the crowd for much longer would have given me a pretty good case of rock concert voice. In contrast with comments from a previous review, both of these dishes had plenty of fire; in fact, that's pretty much all they had going for them. The green curry was mediocre, tasting of coconut milk, heat, raw veg, and not much else. The noodles were overcooked into sort of a gummy mess that could have doubled for shoe rubber if you found yourself in a real bind. Total meal price for two was ~$20, without any alcohol. The portions are fairly large, too - perfect for the average Colorado Springs crowd. Personally, I'm not sure that I'll be back.

Food: I have been disappointed on three occasions now! This is a Colorado mini-chain, with each location varying in quality. This is the worst of the chain (the best one is in Denver on Broadway). The pad thai resembled more of a ramen-type soup. Way too much runny sauce in the bowl (really was like a soup). Lacked the various nuances of spices found at their other locations. Their curries also are unimaginative, and very much dumbed-down for an American palate. Also, all their entrees are way too sweet, need to be more savory. Overall, three strikes and you're out! No more chances for Thai Basil in Colorado Springs. Not a comfortable place to eat, with poor excuses for so-called Thai food. I'll take a pass going forward.

When my date and I walked in, it was a lot smaller than we expected it to be, but it wasn't busy so it wasn't a problem. We were greeted right away, with a friendly smile. The service was nice, but not quite the experience i was looking for. Our waitress didn't try to converse, just doing bare minimum. The food came out extremely fast! I ordered the Thai Eggplant, which was amazing! A little spice to it, but wasn't too much so I couldn't enjoy it. My date enjoyed his dish as well (don't remember what he ordered ) I thought it was a nice place but the only things the stood out, was the overhead music. Sounds like they were playing something from a local radio station.. not enjoyable at all. In addition to the poor choice in music, there was a TV going on in the back room, that was loud enough for us to hear. Other than that, I would recommend trying it out, it was interesting.

This is probably the most authentic Thai that you can get in the Springs. It's a chain joint, but don't hold that against it. The vegetarian options are decent (Thai Eggplant ftw), and the edamade order is more than enough for 6 people to share. The staff is extremely friendly and make the best out of the somewhat cramped space. If you're looking to try something out of the norm (for you at least, Colorado Springs), order a Thai Iced Tea. It's made up of sweet, condensed milk and strong black tea for a mix that's truly delightful.

Thai Basil is an excellent choice for lunch. The portions are generous and the prices are very reasonable. I often order the Thai Basil Tofu. This dish has stir fried tofu, water chestnuts, bok choy, lots of basil and garlic in a rich sauce. I always order steamed rice instead of the usual fried rice to go with it. It is denoted as a spicy dish but they always default to medium unless you tell them your preference. My only complaint is that the sauce is too thick for my liking. If they tone down on the cornstarch or arrowroot it wouldn't be so coagulated, I usually take home the leftovers and need to add soy sauce or water when I reheat it. I would say this place is good for groups of 4 or less. I've come with a larger group and there is always someone left out at the end waiting a good 5 or 10 minutes after everyone else got their meal.

Stopped in for lunch... was seated immediately and noticed the tables are rather close to each other. Suddenly the two of us were meeting four others. Okay? The service was great and the food tremendous. A good place if your looking for a quick sit-down, serve, eat and go!

Nice comfortable atmosphere, open feel and clean. ordered the crunchy egg roll (about $4 - tasty, but kinda small portions) and the Pad Thai (about $8 - also tasty, but I found it to be a little bland. next time I will ask them to upgrade the spice, then I think it'll be *very* good.). I'm happy I gave this place a 1st try, and I'll be going back.

Came by with a group of friends today. There were seven of us so it took about 10 - 15 min to seat, but that's okay. There were seven of us. When we got being seated the staff were real friendly and ready to serve. The menu offers a great variety choices, separating them by main ingredient like most Asian restaurants. I chose the Orange Beef and wasn't disappointed. It's not the most impressive oriental meal in town but it leaves you satisfied and tastes great. I'll definitely return here later on. Service, Food, Price and Setting. Four Stars Toss up between one and two dollar signs depending on what you order.

This is NOT the most authentic Thai food that you can get in Colorado Springs; believe me, being of Thai heritage, I do know. First of all, the restaurant is located in the strip mall area that contains Chipotle and The Egg and I, and is next to H&R Block. When I walked in, I was so confused because the decor was Chinese, not Thai. Uh oh. Our servers were not Thai, of that I am pretty certain, especially since my parents and grandparents, who are Thai, were there to confirm. Thai Basil does know how to market and describes their dishes to tempt the customer, but what you get is not what is written. Their Thai Iced Coffee is what I believe to be composed of the Thai Iced Coffee concentrate you buy in the Asian grocery with Half and Half on top. It tasted alright, but definitely not great. We ordered Chicken Satay and it was dismal tasting; the chicken was coated in this way too sweet sauce and the peanut sauce was runny with no spice or even peanut taste, if you can believe it. The cucumber salad/relish served with the Chicken Satay did not seem to contain any peppers and although it might have been soaked in vinegar, the sugar added to the salad eliminated any other flavor but sugar. Yuck. I ordered the Thai Eggplant as my lunch portion entree and it too, like the Chicken Satay and cucumber salad, was so sweet, I could barely eat it. I had to douse it with Sriracha Sauce in order to dumb down the sweetness, but it still tasted like I was eating just sugar. On the menu, Thai Basil claimed that the Thai Eggplant was a hot dish...maybe they meant the temperature; it could not have meant hot as in spicy because there were sparse amounts of pepper flakes. It was also supposed to have basil and mint. Well, I did see a partial piece of basil and did not find any mint. At least the egg roll served with the entree was not sickeningly sweet. My eldest daughter ordered the Drunken Noodles, which were supposed to be mild due to our request, but I did not see a single flake of pepper on it either; definitely did not like her dish. The Potstickers, ordered by my youngest daughter, seemed okay, but even those she did not really eat which is abnormal. Also ordered around the table were Thai Curry Lime Beef, Drunken Noodles -spicy, Pad Se Ew, Fish Filet in Black Been Sauce, and Hong Kong Noodles; all these dishes were so sweet and definitely did not taste as described. Also, the noodle dishes were served in a trough-like bowl which made everyone look like a farm animal when they had to eat directly out of the bowl. What am I saying? Well, if you want sweet Chinese American food, go ahead and try Thai Basil. On their website, they do advertise themselves as being Asian Fusion, but as far as that goes, this is the worst Asian Fusion food I have ever tasted. My husband is still laying down, an hour later, with a stomach ache and I feel pretty nasty as well. If you want Thai food, do not let the title of the restaurant fool you; go somewhere else like Thai Mint on Briargate Boulevard, not far from the Thai Basil location. Also, I found the servers to be okay but one did pratically throw our to go boxes at my grandfather. Nice. Another thing is the lack of beverage menu which leaves the customer guessing at what they have to drink and what the prices are. Oh, and almost all the plates they served us with, though probably originally nice, were chipped; pretty unappetizing.

Took my two daughters-in-law for lunch. I have to say, the Spicy Thai Ginger Shrimp would be worth the trip from St. Louis! A bit noisy, but wonderful and cheerful service and really fresh and well-prepared food. The Tom Gum soup was just right and the shrimp dish held plump and not overcooked shrimp with plenty for dinner tonight.

Cheers for another expansion from Denver. This is a small space, but nicely decorated and conveniently located near all the Chapel Hills shops. The food is good; I tried a variety of dishes but especially loved the gyoza appetizer. But here's the kicker. I was surprised to see that the beer I ordered was only listed as 25 cents on our bill. I thought surely they left off a '3' and a '.' (the menu list price) But no, in fact, that was the actual price. The people at the table next to me said that domestic bottles are on special for 25 cents from 5 to 10 PM, while imports are 50 cents. Did you hear me???? 25 cent beer??? Get it while it lasts, and make sure you order some dinner to go with it.

The GOOD, the BAD and the UGLY (really ugly) I've spent a few weekends in CO Springs and have come to realize that cheap/free beer and wine is not all that uncommon. Broadway Deli on Tejon (4 star review to come) has unlimited FREE beer with dinner between 5 and 10 every night - and for a deli the food is great. Thai Basil has 25/50 cent beer - eat in only (no acceptions). Although free/cheap beer is tempting.... Thai Basil is not worth the effort even for dirt cheap beer. Picked up a large take out order tonight for 5. The GOOD: service was quick - spent less than 10 minutes in the restaurant from placing the order to walking out the door. The BAD: the small portions were mediocre at best and the noodles were not close to warm (temp and spice levels) and not as good as Noodles and Company(!), there was no heat (spice level) in any of the food (noodles, beef, shrimp, rice) nor any offer to make the food spicy... The UGLY: the store management and customer service. I asked for a beer while waiting in a booth for the take out and the manager instructed the cashier to chrarge full price, huh?, I am sittting in a booth waiting for the 'Panda Express wannabies' to box up some to-go and they deny 1 'happy hour' priced beer - I was suprised they didn't offer something/anything (tea/water/beer) for frree while a customer waits for a large order, let alone insist on 'over charging' for a single drink. Yet, the manager insisted take out orders pay full price no acceptions regardless... no need for a power struggle here (...anger mgt paying off already ;-) perhaps I am not the right ethnicity/race for decent service at this establishment - no worries, look forward to finding better service/food elsewhere and there is always Noodles and Company :-(

Their coconut soup is one of the best soups I've ever had. I hate onions and they will make it without onions. I can find almost any excuse to get the soup, cold day, not feeling good or if you just want to eat something amazing.

Second try. Still not too impressed, but it's not horrible and it's a bargain. We had Sesame Tofu that was supposed to be crispy fried and it was really mushy. Also it was way more sweet than spicy. The Curry Chicken with Peanut Sauce was bland and not as red as I had hoped. Maybe you have to tell them to spice it up? Both dishes were identified as spicy on the menu, but were quite dull. The Thai soup was really good as was the coconut chicken soup. And really, a beer for $1.50? You can't beat that with a stick!

Visually, you'll find the overall restaurant pleasing with a little Thai-modern sense. My appetizer -Thai Spring Roll in rice paper (the usual order) didn't really owe me. Not saying it was bad, however the portion to flavor ratio, coupled with the "pre made, cold and just outta the refrigerator," fell a little shy when compared to a majority of the ones I've tried elsewhere. As for the main entree...I ordered the Chicken Eggplant. I will say it was very good...a perfect balance of chicken, eggplant and sauce, all prepared great. It's rare you that you don't come to find your meal swimming in sauce -and this delivered for sure. Portion wise...you get your money's worth! Okay....so, my peeve with the place was they don't offer the little spice tray (the one with the chili sauce.) This has to be the first Thai restaurant I've seen this at....maybe it's me being judgmental, but it's Thai and should be a standard at every table -kiddos like salsa to a Mexican joint. All that said, it's worth it and you'll be happy you did. Forgot to mention...the service was great too! Fast always checking up and never once violated the glass of water half empty rule!

This place was pretty good. We went for a friend's birthday and she picked the place. We ordered "spicy" items from the menu. The waitress even commented that Ooo, we were going for the spicy! So we expected some fire when it came out. The food came remarkably fast, probably less than 10 minutes. They were in weird dishes, I thought they were kind of silly. Gordon Ramsey would have a field day with these things. But anyway, the food. It tasted really good but the spice was almost non-existant. I guess you need to tell them to really kick up the spice. They do have Sriracha on the table if you want to add it I guess but I didn't want to mess with the flavors of my food. I thought it was a Thai place but the menu said "asian fusion" or something. They have stuff like sesame chicken, pad thai and Vietnamese noodle bowls, so it isn't just a Thai place. It still tasted pretty good though.They just need to up the spice. They do have dessert, although we didn't get any (sadly-it looked really good). The beer seems to have gone up to a dollar instead of a quarter, too. It was decently priced. Three of us ate for under forty bucks.

Fresh food, generous portions, friendly and attentive service -- and good prices! The food was fabulous. Several in our party are gluten intolerant which always makes eating out tricky. The waiter was familiar with gluten intolerance and identified all the items on the menu that were gluten-free and offered to change the recipe on one dish to exclude the gluten. Certain dishes he said couldn't be made gluten-free because the chef said they wouldn't taste good. We appreciated his candor and the chef's dedication to providing delicious food.

I would give it zero stars if I could. My husband and I came to eat dinner one day in the first week of August. The place was very empty. Yet, we still had to wait for quite a while to be seated. We have had plenty of Thai food before, and we knew what we liked. But the menu in this restaurant was very limited. And after we sit down, it took the waitress 20 minutes to come over to our table to greet us. We finally placed our order of three dishes and an appetizer. The food came quickly. We had our first bite, and almost spit it out. The food was terrible. Tasted like cough syrup, and was extremely sweet. All three dishes and the appetizer tasted terrible. We asked the waiter for recommendation for something more authentic. The waiter said nothing in this restaurant was authentic. Every dishes in the menu were made for Americans. "They love the sweet stuff." Well, we did not know what to say. We simply paid for the entire bill, gave the food back to the kitchen, and left. Honestly, we can tolerate bad service if the food is good. But bad service + uneatable food? This place deserve zero stars.

Thai Basil is amazing. I had it for the first time in Denver and was so excited when they opened in the Springs. The springs rolls and Thai basil sauce are to die for. I highly recommend Thai Basil.

The food at Thai Basil is usually exceptional in Denver and Park Meadows. Unfortunately, the food here was just awful. My daughter had bugs in her food. The sesame chicken had old pieces of chicken that made it very crunchy and hard as wood to eat. The vegetables were soggy and gross. The service is terrible and inattentive. TIP: AVOID THIS PARTICULAR RESTAURANT LIKE THE PLAGUE. IT IS AWEFUL!!!

I generally like the Thai Basil restaurants I've been to in the Denver area. However, this one in Colorado Springs was a disappointment. The food was OK, but the waitress was inattentive and unfriendly. I heard her ask people at other tables if they wanted more water. She never asked me, although my glass was empty after a while. Nor did she ever ask me if everything was OK. She gave me the check without saying a word. Needless to say, I didn't give a big tip, just 10% of the pre-tax amount (and actually I regret giving even that much). Go to Thai Basil - just not this one!

The Drunken Noodles with beef was good today.Sweet and spicy.Nice size portions. The appetizer of Crab Cheese Wontons came out fast.The small space can get loud at lunch.Parking could also be tricky at lunch in the busy shopping center.

The worst tasting thai food I've ever had. There were duck bones in the duck & mushroom dish, the coconut soup was tasteless, the shells weren't fully removed from the shrimp, the pad-se-ew was dry and bland. Just really really bad. They did deliver on time and the order was correct. That's about the positive thing I can say.

I ordered delivery through Grub Hub. I ordered the Satay beef and an order of Crab Cheese wontons. My first impression of the place is when my co-worker came to my office with my order and said "The delivery guy said to tell you he is charging extra", which really does NOT leave a good impression. I checked my accounts, and I did not appear to be charged more than what was agreed upon at checkout and had already paid for. The food was pretty good. I love the brown rice. it is cooked perfectly. I probably would have given more stars, however the delivery driver put a bit of a damper on things.

This place is very nice. It's within walking distance of work but I would gladly drive there. The food is reasonably priced and very tasty. I particularly love the hot and sour soup. The servers are always prompt and friendly and you don't have to go all that often to be remembered.

I hate leaving bad reviews bur the restaurant is called Thai Basil. Menu is more of Chinese /Vietnamese /Thai. I had the Tom Yum soup and Pad Thai. Soup had way too much onions and Pad thai was in a sweet ketchup sauce. Not just that, service is slow. Sorry little restaurant but call yourself fusion cuisine or stick to 1.

Not a great Thai restaurant for everything. But the green curries are delicious and the best thing on the menu. If you go here, get that. I can eat that any day. The rest of the menu ranges from decent to bland to bad. The wait staff are very friendly and the restaurant is always clean. I love going here and will continue to do so, for my one item.

Very good. Had delivered and the soup and egg rolls seem home made. Yummy! The main dish had way too much sauce. Next time we will get it on the side. Ordered again. Went with all appetizers. Tofu great needs to be crispier browner but tasty. Satay chicken and a salad good! Will definitely try again! Wonton soup is awesome.
